Gitmo Lowland Crooked Rhine Picnic

This event is weather-dependent and low-budget. If the weather is shit, it shall be cancelled.

This place is somewhat unknown but not to the students of the nearby university. It has natural surroundings and is easy to get to (see satellite imagery). You could reach it from the A12 motorway, exit ‘Bunnik’ and then drive towards Utrecht on the provincial road (N411). Or reach it coming from Utrecht Galgewaard stadion. The map shows you where to park and how to walk.
Alternatively there is a railway station Bunnik. Too far to walk: Continue by bus or bicycle. (Note: The local forest law enforcement sometimes writes tickets if you go into the woods by bike)
Once you found the bridge at the end of ‘Koningslaan‘ (= Bunnik), you continue on foot to the next bridge. There you take a left into the woods and after the veggie garden another left, towards the river. You’ve reached it. Look around for others.

Show up with the food you like and want to share. Bring your partner, offspring and self-behaved animals. Additional women are welcomed. Remember to bring a picnic blanket + towel + swimsuit. Rubber boats are optional. If it’s sunny, there is also shade.
